Welcome to Kelle Woodturning
One of life’s greatest joys is the act of creation. Sadly, in these days of mass production, we have lost touch with this activity. More often than not, quantity has replaced quailty.
In my works, I create unique pieces which remind us of the days of master craftsmen. I rescue downed trees, destined to become firewood or mulch, and give them new lives. The stories of a trees life beneath its bark become revealed to us as we explore the fascinating grain patterns and irregularities. Colors and forms and beg us to pick pieces up and explore every inch. Textures invite us to touch and feel the warmth of wood. Utilitarian pieces can give us daily contact with a piece of nature.
Trees give us oxygen, food, shelter, and serenity. It is my hope that my works let trees continue to contribute enjoyment to us even after their generous existence has ended.
